1. Question: How can I make Faith Christian School affordable for my family?
Answer: Arizona is blessed with the Tuition Tax Credit program. This allows taxpayers to direct their tax dollars toward students desiring a Christian education. We encourage all families to apply for tuition tax credit monies and ask their family, friends, neighbors, co-workers to participate in the program. It costs them NOTHING and they get to spend their tax dollars furthering Kingdom work.
2. Question: Do your students wear uniforms?
Answer: Yes, our students wear uniforms. The personal appearance standards outline our dress code policy and give detailed guidelines for the clothing that may be worn for different events and activities.
3. Question: Is the school safe?
Answer: Faith Christian School takes every precaution to keep the students safe while on campus. During school hours, all outside doors remain locked. All visitors must enter through the office and must sign in at the front desk. Drills are performed regularly to ensure that staff and students are fully prepared for an emergency.
4. Question: How is a Christian school different from a charter school?
Answer: Faith Christian School is completely funded through tuition and charitable donations and does not receive government funding. This means that we can speak boldly the truth of the gospel, which is integrated into everything we do and teach. All students also have Bible class, where they learn Christian truths about God's divine plan. Students attend chapel once a week. Charter schools, by law, cannot teach from the Bible or proclaim God's word as the ultimate authority. Praise the Lord that we can!
5. Question: What is chapel?
Answer: Chapel is an exciting time for our students. Each Wednesday, our elementary and secondary students gather together for a time of worship and study. Our high school praise team leads worship to prepare our hearts for the sharing of God's word. Local pastors from the community speak to the students about some aspect of our year's spiritual theme.
6. Question: What are your class sizes?
Answer: At Faith Christian School, we believe that small class sizes are essential to the overall learning environment of the school. The student cap for Kindergarten is 17, 1st through 6th grade is 20, and Junior High/High School is 25.
7. Question: How do I enroll my child?
Answer: The enrollment process begins by filling out the application and returning it to the school office with the registration fee. This saves your child a spot in the class and is the first step in joining the Faith Christian School family.
8. Question: Can I come by the school for a tour?
Answer: We would love to meet you and show you around the campus. Evening Open Houses are held periodically for prospective families to meet the administration and staff, as well as tour the campus. Tours are also given during school hours by appointment. Contact the school office to schedule a tour.
9. Question: What is the school's denomination?
Answer: The school is non-denominational and a variety of denominations are represented in our student body. The Bible is our ultimate source of truth and it is the lens through which we view the world. Click on the following to view our vision statement, mission statement, and statement of faith.
10. Question: Do you have a lunch program?
Answer: Faith Christian School offers lunches daily and orders food from local vendors such as Taco Bell, Panda Express, Sourdough Pizza, El Pollo Loco, and Wendy's. Parents may log on to orderlunches.com to purchase lunches for a specific day, a week, or even a whole month. Orders must be submitted by 6am on the day of the desired purchase. Students are also allowed to bring their own lunches. Microwaves are available for student use.
11. Question: Do parents have to volunteer?
Answer: We cannot do what we do without parent help. All parents are asked to volunteer 20 hours of their time each school year to assist the school in some way. This may mean helping in the classroom, going on field trips, helping with fundraisers, helping in the school office, and various other opportunities. We know that our parents have busy lives, but we believe that every family can contribute in some way to their child's education.
12. Question: What is your homework policy?
Answer:
13. Question: Is your school accredited?
Answer: Faith Christian School is a candidate for accreditation through Christian Schools International. This is a lengthy process, but we are excited to say that we are in the final stages of the accreditation process.
14. Question: What is the school's relationship with Christchurch?
Answer: Working together, Christchurch and Faith Christian School are committed to the comprehensive discipleship of children and adults alike. We believe that a Christian School education is a significant part of the spiritual, social, and educational development of each student.
